Projects like Golden Quadrilateral (Joining four metropolitan cities viz. Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai with 8 lane mega highway), Linking of rivers (Joining 14 Himalayan rivers in North and 16 peninsular rivers in South), Atomic Power Stations, Metro rail and Sky bus projects etc. are inviting use of sophisticated and breakthrough technologies and multi-skilled work force. Even though construction sector employs more than 40 million people today, most of the contracting workforce is informal and untrained.
