All laboratories in the Information Technology Department have well equipped power backup facility. All our labs are well furnished, well equipped and air conditioned with good ambience.
1. Programming Laboratory
Programming Laboratory provides excellent teaching learning methodology with enough facilities for overall development of students. This laboratory is fully devoted for implementation of all basic and hardcore programming. This lab is mainly focus on C, and C++ Programming. Operating system and System Software Programming are also implemented in these lab. Practical sessions are conducted for FE, SE and TE students

2. Software Development Tools Laboratory
The Department of information Technology has a Software Development tools laboratory. This lab is specially empowered with application softwares like VB, ORACLE and JAVA. Practical based on analytical tools like R and WEKA are also conducted in the laboratory. Thus the SDTL Laboratory is well configured with both application and analytical software.
Equipments: PC with Dell OptiPlex 7010 Core i5, 4 GB Ram, 500GB HDD

3. Linux Laboratory
Linux laboratory is spacious and well equipped with the latest Core i5 Processor machines that provides modern computational and research facilities to both Under & Post graduates students. Linux Lab functions with Ubuntu Linux OS. Linux clients are connected via an Ethernet network to Central server room. This lab aims at providing students the knowledge about the Linux Operating System Environment. Students are made familiar with various Open Source Technologies. Access to both offline and online Internet services is available. The lab is used to train the students to improve their programming knowledge and conduct experiments related with the core IT subjects.

4. Network and Security Laboratory
The Department of information Technology has a well-equipped Network and Security Laboratory. The basic objective of this laboratory is to teach the fundamentals of network security and implement cryptography and encryption algorithms from security point of view. This lab is specially empowered with application softwares like JAVA, Eclipse IDE. It deals with security related applications like Wireshark, Nessus and Snort (for Intrusion Detection) tools etc.

5. Project and Computer Laboratory
A more concrete benefit of a project lab is the chance to rapidly improve technical skills in a realistic setting outside of the classroom. Student becomes a much better programmer throughout his three years of work on projects as an undergraduate student. Student has to learn new programming languages, libraries, tools, and technologies on-demand to meet project requirements. This sort of hands-on knowledge can't easily be taught in textbooks or classes, since it requires an authentic setting where students are doing real work and not just preset exercises with known results. If all works out, working on projects will feel like a super intensive yet satisfying lab class where you complete an innovative project that you are proud of. Student will also get to practice writing up and presenting your work to an audience, which is great training for many kinds of jobs. Student might also get credited as a co-author on a published research paper, which is important if he/she wants to pursue higher degree in the future.

6. Processor Architecture and Interfacing Laboratory
The Department of Information Technology has a well-equipped Hardware laboratory. The basic objective of this laboratory is to teach the fundamentals of design techniques and construct various Embedded Application from Industry point of view.

7. Data Engineering Laboratory
Data engineering lab is research and development lab for data and knowledge engineering applications. The major research and development themes currently are data storage mechanisms and semantic information retrieval and data analytics. Data storage mechanisms include research in the area of main memory databases, RDF triple stores and digital libraries. Semantic information retrieval research is carried out in the area of ontology matching/mapping, ontology interoperability, semantic key phrase extraction, ontology change management and semantic enabled software engineering. Realizing the critical importance of big data for business and society at large; Data analytics, machine learning and related research is carried out at data engineering laboratory in the department.

8. Web Intelligence and Distributed Computing Laboratory
Description of Web Intelligence and Distributed Computing Laboratory is developed for performing assignments which are to be performed on multiple machines. The objective of this lab is research and development that explores the roles and makes use of artificial intelligence and information technology for new products, services and frameworks that are empowered by the World Wide Web. Distributed environments are set up in lab for distributed computing and distributed data storage. For example Hadoop master-slave setup is done in the lab. For Web based development and testing different web servers are configured and utilized.

9. Computer Laboratory Practice I
The Department of Information Technology has a well-equipped Computer Laboratory Practice I .The basic objective of this laboratory is to teach the fundamentals of Programming Language I for first year engineering students. We also have software’s deployed on our machines for improving and enhancing communication skills for all MIT students, especially for the FE students in the same premises called the Language Laboratory.

11. ME Laboratory
The Departments of Information Technology has well equipped ME laboratory intended specially for PG course. This lab accommodate around 20 computers with latest system configuration. Systems in this lab is are fully networked with high speed internet facility. Software and hardware requirements with respect to the curriculum have been installed in this lab to cater the needs of the PG students. PG students use this lab to complete their lab assignments and do their research as well.

12. IT Research Laboratory
The Department of Information Technology has recently developed Research Lab with the objective of promoting research and development for Under Graduate & Post Graduate students. Research Lab is enriched with upgraded configuration computers. The Research Lab is headed by Dr. Debajyoti Mukhopadhyay who is also the Dean of (Research & Development) MIT Group of Institutions.
