Hello, and welcome to MIT, Pune. People make an Institution great, so weather you are a Graduate student, Current student, Professor, Staff member or a Visitor your interest and enthusiasm are valued and appreciated. It is a matter of pride to lead an Institution with such a rich and storied past MIT Pune began with a handful of student, little property and limited power and prestige but a determined mission “To advance learning and perpetuate it to Posterity” as a 1983 brochure put it.

That bold vision has guided MIT for last two decades and made it the India’s leading centre of learning that it is today. It is our collective efforts, however that today makes this Institute such a vibrant place to live, to learn, to work, to explore.

MIT-ian is a word, which was once our prime concern. It was the time and the people then who shaped and defined us to be the people we are at present. That time is perhaps lost in the recess of memory and those people are perhaps unlisted in the memory of mobile phones. We have faced many changes right from colleges to homes, nations to continents and the constant is change. Our lives of work family & community along with its pressures have left us with a very little time to indulge in reminiscences of days gone by.

Therefore it is a time to revisit the familiar vistas of memory lane. It is a time to introduce our significant others to our younger selves.

Fellow MIT-ians we definitely have to do it.

Last year we celebrated the Silver Jubilee of MIT, Pune. On this occasion we had the Reunion of 1st Batch (1983-84) of MIT Pune and we had resolved to have the reunion every year for the Silver Jubilee Batch so this year we have MIT Alumni Meet and Reunion of 1984-85 batch of MIT, Pune is being organized on 3rd Sunday during the month of December 2008 (21.12.2008). If you associate yourself with any of the Graduating Batches of MIT, Pune come and join us for a fun field evening of dinner, dancing and rejoicing. We hope you will attend the event either by yourself or your significant other. We will try not to disappoint you and we hope we make it a time you will remember for long.

During the same event we also plan to honour some of our Distinguished Alumni with a prestigious “JEWEL OF MIT” award on the same day. The nominations for this award are to be received by this office up to December 1st 2008.

Silver Jubilee Programmes in December, 2007

Invitation To Alumni

Dear Alumnus of MIT,

The Board of Trustees, Management, Teachers and Students of MAEER’s M.I.T. would like to extend a warm invitation to all past students and their families to attend the Silver Jubilee Celebrations in the month of December, 2007.

All alumni are requested to visit their alma mater from 27th to 30th December, 2007 and participate and enjoy the celebrations. A photo session is also arranged on Saturday, 29th December, 2007 and we would like to have you present for the same in a formal attire.

MIT’s Grand Cultural evening on Sunday, 30th December, 2007 will take place along the serene banks of the river Mula-Mutha at the Vishwashanti Sagar lake developed on the Vishwaraj Bandhara on the Gurukul Campus at Rajbaug, Loni-Kalbhor.

Renowned artists of Indian classical music have agreed to perform on the theme. They will perform sitting in the three ‘Mandaps’ Shri Mahasaraswati Mandap, Shri Mahalaxmi Mandap and Shri Mahajaladevata Mandap installed right in the midst of the Vishwasagar.

I am sure this will be a unique, lifetime experience for you and your family. MIT is looking forward to meet you and revive nostalgic memories of your years with M.I.T.
