Please follow the following Procedure.
Step – I :- Application Forms and Bulletin
Please Purchase the International Students Bulletin (Cost: Rs.500/-) from the Publication section of University of Pune Office. The Bulletin contains the information and an application form. The form may also be download from the University of Pune website. www.unipune.ernet.in.
Step – II :- Provisional Eligibilty and Payments
For checking the provisional eligibility the student is required to pay the fees in the form of Cash or Demand Draft at the Bank of Maharashtra
University of Pune Eligibility Fees are as follows
- Non-professional Course:- Rs.600/-
- Professional Courses :- Rs. 1200/-
Step – III :- Filing the Application Form
Fill up the application form and submit the form along with all the necessary documents to International Students Centre, University of Pune. The counterfoil of the Eligibility fee payment must be submitted with application form. An undertaking on judicial stamp paper of INR 20 is to be submitted by every student. (Format available with ISC, University of Pune.)
Step – IV :- Processing Time for documents
The International Students Centre, University Of Pune takes minimum following number of days for processing documents.
- Admission to Undergraduate Courses: 2 working days
- Admission to Post Graduate Courses: 15 working days
- Admission to Ph. D: 15 working days.
Post Graduate/Ph.D admissions are finalized only after June each year.
Step – V :- Provisional admission letter
Provisional Admission & Eligibility letter is to be collected from ISC, University of Pune. This letter enables the Indian Embassy to provide student visa (Only student visas are acceptable) to the concerned International Student/Scholar.
Step – VI :- Student Visa and Other Formalities
After getting the student VISA the applicant is required to pay the following fees to International Students Centre through Bank Of Maharashtra Counter, University Of Pune.
Entrance fee, Medical fee and Medical Insurance fee. The total amount is USD 635. This may be paid in USD or the equivalent sum in Indian rupees. This is to be done by the applicant in person. The applicant must carry all original certificates, which must be shown on demand.
- Entrance Fee: USD 500
- Medical Exam Fees: USD 60
- Medical Insurance Fee: USD 75
- Total: USD 635/-
Step – VII :- Submission to ISC, University Of Pune
Receipts of payments as mentioned in step VI are to be submitted to the International Student Centre, UOP. This completes the initial procedure at ISC University of Pune, Campus.
Step – VIII :- Allotment of College
On receipt of all the relevant documents and payment International Students Centre will allot a college to the students after 48 hours (02 working days minimum) on first come first serve basis.
Step – IX:- Collection of Admission Letter
Student is required to collect the Admission and College allotment letter in person after 02 days. The respective college receives the consolidated list of students allotted to the college during last 02 working days of a week dispatched from ISC, University of Pune.
Step – X:- Admission Procedure at MAEER IEC, Pune
Student is required to proceed to the respective colleges allotted for payment of fees and completion of procedure at the college level. i.e MAEER IEC, Pune incase of colleges run by MAEER’s Group, Pune
Step – XI:- Important Note of Caution
Students must note that fees are to be paid within seven days of issue of admission letter by International Students Centre, University Of Pune.
FAILURE TO REPORT WITH IN STIPULATED TIME SHALL AUTOMATICALLY LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION, WITHOUT REFUND OF ANY FEES PAID TO ISC, UNIVERSITY OF PUNE.(UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES).
Important Note
It is mandatory for any student from non-English speaking countries to pass English Proficiency Test conducted by University of Pune. It is the responsibility of the concerned student to attend the English proficiency course and appear for the test on his own.
Following students are exempted from English Proficiency Test.
- Students from English speaking Countries.
- Students who have passed from Indian H.S.C. Boards
- Students who have passed ELICIS Course with minimum B+ (Grade)
We request all International Students to adhere and abide by the procedural details strictly. The scholars who refuse to accept these procedural rules shall not be provided with the admission to any course in the colleges rum by MIT Group of Institutions and MAEER IEC, Pune – 411038 (INDIA).
Important Dates

- Cancellation of Admission:As per the prevailing cancellation policy of the institute

Definitions
Definition of PIO
“Persons of Indian Origin” (PIO) in this context means a person having foreign citizenship (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) without “NRI” status, but who holds a Foreign Passport at the time of sending application, consideration for admission and during the period of his study and he/she or any one/ both of his/her parents or any one/ both of his /her grand parents is (or was) / are (or were ) citizen (s) of India by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of India or Section 2 (b) of Citizenship Act, 1955 (Act No. 57 of !955).
Definition of Foreign National
Foreign Nationals: Shall mean the citizens of all countries other than India, who are not of Indian origin as defined under PIO. Foreign Student: Shall mean, in this context, as the student who possesses a foreign passport , provided that any subsequent changes in the definition as may be notified by the Government of India shall have the same latest meaning respectively assigned to them. The other expressions not defined herein shall have the meaning as may be assigned in any subsequent notification of Government of India.
Definition of NRI
“NRI” in this context means Non-Resident Indian as defined in Income Tax Act, 1961 with the following clarifications:
An individual is Non-Resident when he is “not a resident” or who is “not ordinarily resident”. A person is treated as “not ordinarily resident” when any of the following conditions is satisfied
- If he/she has not been resident in India in nine out of ten preceding years; or
- If he/she has not been in India for a period of 730 days or more during the preceding seven years
