PROF. RAHUL VISHWANATH KARAD AWARDED 'AWARD OF EXCELLENCE'

Prof. Rahul Vishwanath Karad, Founder Dean of MIT School of Government was presented the 'Award of Excellence-2006-2007' for best performance by Top Management Consortium, a Pune based Management Consultancy firm. The award was presented to him at the august hands of His Excellency Shri S.C.Jameer, Governer of Goa, in Symbiosis Institute of Management, Pune.

Shri. B. R. Malhotra, Chairman, Top Management Consortium, Shri J.G. Patil, General Secretary, Shri. S. P. Malhotra, Treasurer, Shri. Mukesh Malhotra, Prof. Dr. S. B. Mujumdar, Founder, Symbiosis and Dr. P. D. Patil were present on this occasion.

Prof. Rahul Vishwanath Karad is a rising visionary leader, who founded a new concept 'MIT School of Government'. This Institute is doing the important work of training educated young men and women make a career in politics and government. This is the first school of its kind in India and Asia. An alumnus of the Harvard Business School, he attributes conceptualizing this school because of the education he received at the global level.
Replying to the felicitation, Shri Rahul Vishwanath Karad quoted one statement made by Lord Macaulay in the British Parliament on 2nd February, 1935 – “I have traveled across the length and breadth of India and I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief, such wealth I have seen in this country, such high moral values, people of such caliber that I do not think we would ever conquer this country, unless we break the very backbone of this nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage, and therefore, I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture, for if the Indians think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than their own, they will lose their self-esteem, their native culture and they will become what we want them, a truly dominated nation”. He urged the youth of this country to undertake the challenges of the 21st century to make India a truly developed country. He also emphasized the need that today, the Industrial sector should play a more active role in the Nation Building Process through various Social Projects.
Other eminent personalities from Pune such as Shri B.G.Deshmukh, former Cabinet Secretary, Government of India, Shri. Pravinsingh Pardeshi, Municipal Commissioner, Pune, Shri. Jayant Umranikar, Commissioner of Police, Pune, Smt. Lila Poonawalla, Smt. Rajshree Birla, both renowned industrialists, were presented similar awards due to their stellar contributions in their respective fields of expertise.
