Intechxication (30th MARCH - 1st APRIL 2007)
The Computer, IT and E&TC Department of M.I.T. Pune, under the aegis of the Association of Computer, IT and E &TC Students (ACES) organizes a State level Inter-collegiate technical symposium in the last week of March every year.
The aim of the symposium is to create awareness among the students about immediate and projected industry needs and skill sets. The event involves over 1000 student participants and encompasses B.E. Project Competition, Mini Project, Programming Contest, Video Presentation, Quiz Competition and Technical Seminars. This year we have introduced 3 new events Focus-Panel Discussion, Business case study competition and entrepreneurships seminar. None-the-less, active participation from the industry is the best means for interaction between the academia and the industry.
The prizes for winners were distributed by the hands of Mr. Abhay Hulikavi, Senior Manger, Accenture, Pune, Mr. Dinanath Kholkar, Senior Manger, TCS, Pune and Prof. (Dr.) V. D. Karad, Executive President & Director, MAEER’s MIT, Pune.

CSI Students Branch
More than 100 students have formed CSI student branch. It organizes Seminars, Guest Lecturers and Add-on courses. The students get an exposure with the happenings in the IT industries.
The following activities were organized in 2006-2007 & were conducted under CSI
- The guest lecture was arranged by Mr. Ravi Datar on Access Technology in Oct 2006.
- Mr.Girendra Kasmalkar Chairman CSI Pune Chapter presented entrepreneurshipseminar for students of Computer, IT and E&TC students on 30th March 2007.
- Conducted Pune IT Idol Entrance Examination in Computer / IT Departmentwhich was sponsored by CSI and Rotary Club, Sinhgad Road.
- The department has helped CSI to conduct faculty training programs in varioussubjects. Prof. Mrs.V.Y.Kulkarni, Prof. Mr. B.M.Patil and Prof. Mrs. B.S.Tiple worked as expert faculty for deciding the contents of the course for their respective subjects. Prof. Mr. B.M.Patil and Prof. Mr.A.K.Pathak coordinated the program.

- Mr. Shirish Sikaria has been awarded as Pune IT Idol in 2006-07 by Rotary Club & CSI.
- BE Project of Mr. Swapnil Vispute, Aniket Nagale & Madhavi Paropkari was awarded first prize in IIT Mumbai & IIT Kanpur.
Every year about 20% of the final year students secure admission for higher studies at renowned Universities at abroad and IIT's in India. Department conducts add on courses.
