SUMMIT 2007

‘SUMMIT’ an Inter-Engineering sports meet will be held by MAEER’s MIT, PUNE on 5th, 6th, 7th of October –2007. This sports meet will be organized solely by MIT, PUNE.

This sports meet will consist of ten major events, where in five events will be held for girls, namely BADMINTON, TABLE TENNIS, FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL and VOLLEYBALL. The venue for BASKETBALL is FERGUSSON COLLEGE. BADMINTON and TABLE TENNIS and SQUASH events will be held at CLUB SOLARIS. Cricket will be held at FC, LAW, NCL and MIT.All other events will be held at MIT campus itself.

This event will be an Inter Engineering Event in which all the engineering colleges in Pune as well as a few colleges from the four corners of Maharashtra will be participating.

In all, a crowd of almost 1800 sports enthusiasts are expected to participate in the event.

There will be point system on which the BEST Sports College will be chosen.

NOTE: All the draws will be put up during the inaugural ceremony which will be held on 4th October 2007 at 5:00 pm on MIT college ground with an exception of cricket and football which will be already starting in advance.

POINTS

• EACH COLLEGE WILL BE AWARDED POINTS BASED ON THEIR WINNING OR BEING RUNNERSUP IN AN EVENT.
  
  
• BASED ON THE MAXIMUM POINTS COLLECETD DURING ALL THE EVENTS THE BEST COLLEGE WILL BE CHOSEN.
  
  
• WINNING TEAM GETS : 10 PTS
  
  
• RUNNERS UP   GETS : 6 PTS
  
  
• SEMI FINALISTS GET: 2 PTS

NOTE: ALL THE EVENTS WILL BE TEAM EVENTS AND NO INDIVIDUAL POINTS WILL BE AWARDED.

REGISTRATION

The registration fee for per team per event will be as follows:

• The colleges participating in all events (Men and Women) will get a package of Rs.3000.

• The colleges participating in all 5 events (Women) will get a package of Rs.1000.

• Winners and Runners up will get Trophies and certificates.

• 19 Special prizes to be won.

• Participation certificate will be given at the time of prize distribution.

LAST DATE OF ENTRY IS 22nd SEPTEMBER 2007.

NOTE: ENTRIES WILL BE RESTRICTED TO ONLY FIRST 16 TEAMS PER EVENT SO PLEASE SEND YOUR ENTRIES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

• PLEASE SEND THE REGISTRATION FORMS AS WELL AS THE UNDERTAKING SIGNED BY THE SPORTS SECRETARY BACK TO M.I.T.

• PLEASE BRING THE RECIEPT OF THE FEES PAID AT THE TIME OF REPORTING.
  
  
• SIGNING OF THE UNDERTAKING BY THE SPORTS SECRETARY IS A MUST WITHOUT WHICH NONE OF YOUR COLLEGE TEAMS WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.

PRIZES / TROPHIES / AWARDS

ACCOMODATION

All the teams participating in SUMMIT 07’ coming from outside Pune city will be given accommodation by MIT under the following conditions:

At the time of registration

1. You will have to send a separate DD of Rs.500 in favor of Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune” as a confirmation of your accommodation. This amount will be returned to you when you are leaving Pune.
   
   
2. In event of any untoward incidents or misbehavior of any kind, SUMMIT team reserves the right to take any punitive action as deemed necessary, even to the extent of confiscating the security deposit and registration fees, cancelling the participation of the concerned college, escorting them off the campus and sending a report of misconduct to the head of the concerned institution.

On your arrival in Pune

1. Report at the MIT,Kothrud campus help desk where you will be informed about your accommodation details.
   
   
2. Deposit Rs.1000 in cash, at the help desk, as a security deposit which will be refunded while leaving Pune.
   
   
3. You will be issued a Summit I-Card . Please keep this I-Card with you at all times during the event. You are also expected to keep your college I-Card with you. Summit I-Card without the college I-Card will be considered invalid.
   
   
4. Mess arrangements will not be provided by MIT.
   
   
5. MIT will provide you with mattresses and quilts. You need not bring it along.
   
   
6. If you have not registered beforehand then MIT will be helpless in finding you an accommodation.
   
   
7. Per head expenditure of accommodation will be Rs.675/- for three days i.e. 5th, 6th and 7th October which includes lodging and boarding which shall be borne by every participating individual.
   
   
8. Apart from this you can make arrangements for your own accommodations as per your convenience.
